Hibiscus

— hibiscus tea has been known since the days of Egyptian pharaohs and has always been a respected plant in many other cultures as well. In India, for example, hibiscus flowers are used as an offering to goddesses, in Mexico its fruit is eaten as a delicacy, on the crowded streets of Cairo the hibiscus drink is sold in open-air cafés. The flowers of hibiscus are so beautiful that it is easy to believe they grow in paradise. The sweet-sour taste of hibiscus is very refreshing and the tea is rich in vitamin C, Calcium and Iron.

Preparation and serving:

Pour 200 ml of fresh boiling water over 1 teaspoon of hibiscus tea. Let it brew for five-ten minutes, sieve and add sugar according to your taste. It can be drunk either cold or hot.
